Welcome to Bruce Ducat's Studio Actreel. It's still Bruce Ducat's teaching and coaching. Soon Studio Actreel will be its own free-standing acting school. We hope you will pay attention to the links on "Our Favorite Links" page as they will provide you with valuable and useful information.

It is our sincere desire to inspire actors to actively embrace their own passion for the art and craft of acting that has brought them to us in the first place. At the core of this work is the actor’s willingness to take risks and allow spontaneity to supersede analysis. The focus of the training is a balance between Scene Work and Improvisation, a vital skill for actors auditioning and performing in Feature Films and Television. Actors are encouraged to think outside the intellectual box, imagine beyond the script, and learn to play from their hearts. In addition to Scene Work, Acting for the Camera, and Improvisation, attention is given to Audition Techniques and Cold Reading. The course requires regular presentations of prepared scenes and monologues. Careful consideration is given to relating the actor’s class work to the ever-changing exigencies of a demanding profession.

Mr. Ducat has served as the Acting/Dialogue Coach on several television series and pilots from the big three networks, numerous movies for television, and feature films. He has also been an agent, manager, casting director, and still directs theatrical productions when time permits. His long list of coaching clients and acting students, both past and present, includes Emmy nominee Scott Clifton of General Hospital, Rider Strong of Boy Meets World and Pepper Dennis , Shiloh Strong of Dinotopia, Larisa Oleynik of Ten Things I Hate About You and American Rhapsody, Jodie Sweetin of Full House, Taran Noah Smith of Home Improvement, Ben Savage, Will Friedel and Danielle Fishel of Boy Meets World. Though he is especially gifted with adolescent actors, he has also worked with an equal number of adult stars. His adult list includes Julie Andrews, Jayne Meadows, Jennie Garth, Colleen Camp, Laura Kightlinger, Wil Shriner and the late Eugene Roche and Chris Farley.

Mr. Ducat is a graduate of Concordia University in Montreal with a BFA in Theatre Performance: Directing. He also trained extensively in both Film Production and Film History. While in Montreal he had a successful tenure as both stage director and the Artistic Directorship of Studio Vanguard, a professional actor training program and theatrical production company. He was the Director of the Young Actors Programme of the Drama Studio London and owner of the Young Actors Workshop in Berkeley, California. Mr. Ducat was most recently on the faculty of The Young Actors Space in Van Nuys California and Weist-Barron-Hill Acting for Television and Film in Burbank.
